Upcycling Household Items: An Old Book
Did you make paper crafts as a child; Particularly garland around the holidays? This remains a childhood activity I consistently enjoyed due to its simplicity. It’s often easy to forget to cater to your creative side when the pressures of life pull you in 90 directions at once. Or so it feels. However, I have realized that an intentional act of stepping back and slowing down to create has allowed more space to express desires.
Incredible books I recommend that align with this topic include Slow Productivity by Cal Newport & The Creative Act by Rick Rubin.
It is important to note this craft can be done with household items such as construction paper, wrapping paper, etc. Today I chose an old book due to being inspired by other online creatives, aiming for a ‘vintage’ style. Prevalent reasons why this craft remains so enlightening lies within the low cost and cozy style these items can reflect. Not to mention the therapeutic essence of creating your own holiday decorations remains utterly rewarding.
